Mason County Eastern requires 1 credit of physical education to graduate.  One-fourth (1/4) credit in physical education will be waived for each successful completion of participation on an athletic team for a season.  The credit of physical education may also be waived if a student has a written medical statement from a doctor which will be placed in the student’s permanent record.  If you have participated in a sport and would like part of the physical education credit waived, please complete the form below and return it to the Guidance Office.

Dual Enrollment

Posted by Mrs. Hughes on November 9, 2007

Dual Enrollment Steps

  1. Call West Shore to register to take the Asset Test if you do not have ACT scores of at least a 16 in English and a 17 in Reading.  If you have not taken the ACT, you must take the Asset Test.  Here is the schedule for testing:  Asset Testing Schedule
  2. Fill out the paper or online application for admission to West Shore Community College.  You must provide a copy of your driver’s license and a $15 application fee.
  3. Once you are accepted, a new student on-line orientation is required and must be completed before registration.
  4. Determine which classes you would like to take.  I can help you figure out what classes would best fit your plans.
  5. Fill out the Dual Enrollment Application, have a parent sign it and return it to me.  I will approve the courses and send the application to West Shore.
  6. After you complete these steps, you can register by going online or calling the West Shore Admissions Office at 231-845-6211.
If you have questions about any of these steps, please see me and ask questions.  If you have already taken a dual enrollment class and need to register for the next semester, you just need to complete steps 4-6.
